A big congratulations to the winners of the second contest! First place goes to Oblomos! Second place goes to ImJustAnotherBrony! Trixie looks wonderful as a princess, as expected, so thanks for the excellent illustrations! And special thanks to everyone else who took part in the contest!

It pleases me to know the contests have a great amount of participation. I hope it can continue to do well. With the fans support, I'm sure that will always be so!

Now then, the third contest will commence!

The Trixie Supremacy Drawfest 2013 #3: Theme

Trixie with her peanut butter crackers

:thumb389445087:

Trixie has sporadic times that she will appear in My Little Pony media and merchandise. Sometimes the comics, sometimes a new toy, or even a television ad. You never really know when she'll appear and when she does, it is even more rare that we learn a little bit about what makes Trixie, Trixie. Any new information on her character is very valuable.

When Trixie made her sudden appearance in the movie, she had quite a hilariously enthusiastic desire for peanut butter crackers. Other than that, the movie didn't give us anything else on her, aside from her taste in wardrobe. Us Trixie fans have learned not to be picky though, so we'll take what we can get and remain hopeful for more! Let's put that to purpose now and fund some great art of Trixie and her favorite peanut buttery snack!

:bulletgreen: Draw Trixie with some peanut butter crackers. She can be eating them, holding them, and so-on. Expressing just how much she loves them is the key!

:bulletgreen: An overly complex background, or a background at all, is not required. It is up to the illustrator.

:bulletgreen: Trixie does not have to be illustrated as a human only. Pony and anthro forms are just fine!

:bulletred: Only peanut butter crackers may be the focus of Trixie's cravings. Faux consumables or inedible things and etc are not allowed. Other normal foods that aren't peanut butter crackers, like a vending machine full of candy, or Trixie's classic hay smoothie on the table, is fine to decorate the scene. As long as Trixie's tunnel vision is focused on the peanut butter crackers so it stays in the limelight of the picture theme. If you need an example, just take a look at the apple themed contest entries we had previously. Those came out great!

:bulletred: This is a solo picture of Trixie, so no other characters may be present from the show or elsewhere.

The Trixie Supremacy Drawfest 2013: How it works

Each month a new drawing theme centered around Trixie will be presented. Artists will have one month to illustrate it. When time is up, all of the particpating entries will be put on display in the Journal. From here, all Members, Watchers, and passerbys are encouraged to vote on which entries they like the most. The voting will last for one week. The votes will greatly help me on deciding a winner, so please vote!

The Trixie Supremacy Drawfest 2013 #3: Closing date

The contest will end October 18th.

The Trixie Supremacy Drawfest 2013: Rules

1. The illustration must be shown to me via deviantART note :email: before it is completely finished and uploaded to deviantART, ideally when it is half-way done and not yet rendered with color or ink, so it may be approved for the contest. Your picture will stay completely confidential between you and me. Easy to use image upload sites include Imgur and Photobucket.

:pointr: Imgur: imgur.com
:pointr: Photobucket: photobucket.com

When the picture is complete, you may submit it to the entries folder with the title: "The Trixie Supremacy Drawfest 2013" followed by the number of the theme and your name. Example: "The Trixie Supremacy Drawfest 2013 #1 TheMegaX". Some questionable submissions were created unintentionally last year and I mean to avoid that happening again by whatever means necessary. If a contestant does not comply with this processing, they may be disqualified from that theme. I do not want to turn away any illustrations due to misunderstandings, so this is the only way it can be avoided.

2. Submissions may not contain any material that conflicts with the group's rules.

3. Late submissions will not be accepted into the contest, but will still be housed into the entry folder for display. Please be on time!

4. Artwork drawn before a theme is announced may not be submitted as an entry.

5. Anthro, human, and pony incarnations of Trixie are all welcomed.

6. Previous winners and previous contenders may enter all future themes.

7. You may submit more than one picture for each theme to increase your chances of winning.

8. See rule #1.

"What are points and what can I do with them?"

When I first joined deviantART and for a long time after, I didn't know the value of points. Basically they are a currency usable on deviantART only, bought with real life money. I'll list a few things you can do with points. :points:

:lightbulb: You may buy a premium membership with them. Premium services allow you to customize your deviantART page further. Backgrounds, animated gifs, increased amounts of search engine results, more widgets, more everything! It's a really nice luxury if you browse or are active on deviantART.

:lightbulb: You can buy items in the deviantART store. It has a variety of things, ranging from backpacks, collectables, t-shirts, and so-on. The biggest highlight no doubt are prints that can be bought of your favorite pictures on deviantART. Like for example, an artist you really love has a picture of Trixie for sale as a print. You can order a poster sized print or whatever dimension you want, of high quality material, with lamination. deviantART prints are professional grade, tip-top products.

:lightbulb: Points can be used as payment for commissions of all kinds. A lot of artists on deviantART use points as payment for art they will draw for you or other merchandise, like plushies. Commission a picture you'd enjoy from an artist who accepts point commissions!

:lightbulb: Buy somebody a cake badge! Cake Badges are a popular thing on deviantART. The cake badge is highly sought out because of the somewhat hefty 80 point requirement to give one. They serve as tokens of endearment. Many people have been on deviantART for years and never obtained a cake badge from anybody. The more pieces of cake an individual obtains, the larger the cake becomes. Give somebody on deviantART that you like a cake badge!

:lightbulb: If for whatever reason you cannot think up something to do with the points, give them away! You can give other people points as a gift. Endulge your generous side and give the points to somebody who could use them. You can also gift people premium membership and your name will appear as the giver on their deviantART page. Giving a premium membership to an artist you love will no doubt be appreciated by them!

Closing thoughts

I'm super excited to see the turnout of this newest contest. Canon things that Trixie likes, doesn't like, or things of her past, are highly important in her development. The best things we can do as Trixie fans is to embrace the fun things Hasbro gives us regarding Trixie and pump out as much art & stories of it as we can. That will encourage them to do it more often. No doubt Hasbro Trixie fans pop in here, so we should give them stuff to look at!

If you are interested in helping the contests via contributing pot prizes, commissions, and what-not for the contending artists, please leave a little something in the Journal or note me. Have fun and good luck!
